Creativity fuels the beginning of many extraordinary journeys in our world. It possesses the remarkable ability to transform an ordinary day into an exhilarating adventure, infuse joy into any space, and breathe life into the world.
Hello! I'm Consuela, the person behind Bummel Studio. I am a passionate artist and illustrator. Although my early years were filled with art classes, I eventually embarked on a career in accounting and finance. Yet, I constantly felt a longing for artistic expression to complement my analytical side.
The spark for this creative journey ignited in 2020 when my brother, a fellow cycling enthusiast, approached me with a unique idea. He wanted to gift a birthday greeting card to a cycling friend, but with some cycling inside joke, and that's where everything began. I dipped my toes into the world of cycling illustration to craft that special card. Initially, it was just a hobby, but very soon, I realized the immense potential of my art as there was very little art dedicated to cycling.
In 2023, a pivotal moment arrived when I decided to establish Bummel Studio, a platform dedicated entirely to my cycling illustrations. "Bummel" is a German word that means "stroll." For me, it perfectly encapsulates the essence of cycling – a joyful and leisurely way to explore the world, much like going for a pleasant stroll.
Drawing upon years of self-taught skills in watercolors, acrylics, digital painting, illustrations, and graphic design, I have now channeled my creative energy into crafting captivating cycling-themed artworks. I am on a mission to produce cycling-inspired illustrations that capture the spirit of the sport and bring a touch of cycling elegance into your life.
Currently based in my home studio in beautiful Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada, I pedal through the creative process while balancing the joys of parenthood. My hope is that my cycling illustrations resonate with fellow cycling enthusiasts and bring a dash of inspiration to your cycling endeavours. I invite you to explore my designs, and may they accompany you on your cycling adventures.
